A letter from developers to commanders

尊敬的各位玩家朋友大家好:

Dear commanders,

 

非常感谢大家一直以来对《World Warfare》的认可和支持。这次2.0新版上线以来,我们收到了大量玩家朋友的建议和反馈,我们每天都在认真的整理大家的意见以及修改新版本中所出现的Bug,从而一直没有机会和大家交流。今天,我们暂时修复了大部分的已知bug,(会在近期陆续更新)趁此机会,跟大家聊聊我们的一些真实想法。

First, we thank all the commanders for continuing to support our World Warfare game. Since the launch of the new update version 2.0.0, we have received numerous suggestions and feedback from players and friends. We are collecting and sorting out your opinions and fixing the bugs carefully in the new version, so we barely have the opportunity to communicate with our players. Today, we have temporarily fixed most of the known bugs, (some bugs' hotfix will be updated soon) and take this opportunity to share some of our real thoughts with you.

 

这次版本更新后,我们收到的对于新版本最大的一个疑问:玩家朋友反复建议,希望研发团队能够努力迭代这款游戏的玩法,丰富地图的可玩性,优化兵种平衡性,解决卡顿延迟等问题,但是这次历时几个月做的大版本更新,为何却是一个美术界面的焕新版,让这个游戏从美术角度看起来像是一个新的游戏?而那些建议修改开发团队却一条都没有改进?

After this update, we receive that most players have the same question about our new version. We know that players' and friends' original intention is to suggest the developer team work hard to iterate the gameplay of this game, for instance, enrich the playability of the map, optimize the balance of arms, solve the problem of server delays, and so on. However, our major version update which is taken several months, only change the game art and user interface and make this game more look like a new game. Why development team did not listen and improve a single suggestion from above.

 

其实,我们真诚的想说,在《World Warfare》这款游戏的运营理念上,我们从未发生过改变,我们坚信并坚持希望这款游戏可以长期运营,并让它成为一款玩家喜爱的游戏,好玩的游戏,可以一直玩下去的游戏。近年的游戏运营中,我们也在做这方面的努力,包括推出新的赛季,新的荣誉,新的赛季地图,新的兵种皮肤展示等。

In fact, we sincerely want to say that we have never changed our operation concept of the World Warfare game. We believe and insist that this game can be operated for a long time and we can make it become a game that players love to play and have fun playing forever. During the game operation in recent years, adding the new seasons, new honors, new season maps, new army skin display, etc. we make a lot of efforts in this regard.

 

所以在拓展新的玩法,让游戏更有趣,稳定性越来越好的思路上我们与每位玩家的想法是一样的。但是这款游戏从开发到今天,已经历时将近10年,游戏在长期的运行过程中增加了很多的功能以及内容量,致使我们的游戏代码和结构非常的复杂而庞大,迭代效率变得非常的低,在此基础上再增加新的内容已经极其困难,而且我们的游戏在交互体验、视觉美术效果等方面与市场上的其他游戏出现了一定差距,非常不利于新老玩家的体验。所以为我们才会基于对美术画面升级的同时将程序代码进行了重构,以便我们后续增加和拓展游戏玩法内容更有空间和效率。

Therefore, we have the same idea with every player in the idea of exploring new gameplay, making the game more interesting, and getting better and better game stability. However, it has been pasted for nearly 10 years since this game was first developed. During the long-term development of the World Warfare game, a lot of functions and content have been added. As a result, our game code and game structure are very messy, complex, and huge. So, the iteration efficiency becomes very low. It is extremely difficult to add new content to this old code structure, and our game has a certain gap with other games on the market in the interactive experience, visual art effects, etc., which is very disturbing for new and old players to play the game. Therefore, we reprogram the game code and structure based on the upgrade of the game art and UI, so that we can add the gameplay in the future with more space and update content with higher efficiency.

 

虽然这次2.0版本只是看到美术方面的变化,但是实际上我们游戏的代码已经更加的稳定以及有扩展性,将能够承载更多的游戏玩法。这次的重构其实我们也是非常艰难的一步步完成的。所以我们诚挚的希望大家能够给我们更多的时间,让我们在稳定当前的版本同时,继续期待新的玩法内容的更新。我们确信,2.0美术版本仅是第一步,我们会尽快稳定游戏的性能,推出更丰富的地图多样性,增加游戏战斗的策略性。

Although in this 2.0 version we seem only change the game art and UI, the code and structure of our game have been programmed as stable and extensible. It will be able to carry more gameplay. However, this reconstruction of the game structure is very difficult for us to complete step by step. Therefore, we sincerely hope that you can give us more time so that we can continue to look forward to the update of new gameplay content while stabilizing the current version. We are sure that the 2.0 art and UI version is only the first step. We will stabilize the performance of the game as soon as possible, then improve the map diversity, and increase the strategy of the battlefield.
