Military Zone Combat Outpost Concept

The Military Zone is a strategic admin position with many advantages if properly utilized. Currently, commanders can capture a military zone and construct a smaller patrol base to assist in repelling an enemy assault, defending the inlet to a bay, or augmenting forces during an offensive. These are great assets this zone brings to the fight, however it's sole restriction is being tethered to an owner city. When you are attacking an enemy far from home with no league base for support, you can find yourself  easily defeated due to a lack of logistical support. The Combat Outpost concept for the Military Zone will assist unaided commanders in seizing a victory against a larger opponent.

A Combat Outpost is a company sized militarized position which is is capable of defending defending against and initiating attacks on the enemy. It receives sullied via supply drops or logistical convoys and is capable of sustaining a military units fight against the enemy. To recreate this in the game, each military zone shall act independently as a league city (though will count toward a commander's capture points). When taken within enemy territory, the zone is supplied with a small amount of resources and supplies to sustain the commander's unit for a short amount of time. The military zone shall be incapable of generating neither income, nor population, yet can receive from capture villages to which is designated as owner as the cities do currently. If the commander wishes to maintain this position (i.e. Build troops/structures, repair seriously wounded troops, upgrade structures, etc), they must either connect it to a friendly city or deliver resources, supplies, armaments (munitions depot cannot be built unless the military zone is owned by a friendly city) via city/league transportation (or supply ship if the idea is seriously considered (wink wink)) as it shall be incapable of owning neither oil, rubber, nor steel factories. This also means the military zone will be able to resupply troops within its territory. This small addition to the military zone will greatly increase and diversify the depth of gameplay within world warfare.

Currently, most players build a large force and fly straight to an enemy city to conduct battle. After a paradrop of about 12x arty and bombers circling out of range, the arty destroys the turrets and the bombers destroy the city. Though this is a boring way to attack, it is efficient if you are within range to make both legs of the trip. For those commanders who are unable to make the return flight and cannot construct league cities as a forward operating base, this will allow them the ability to penetrate deep I to enemy territory and maintain a presence for the duration of the attack without needless lost to costly upgraded troops. The consideration to this investment is the ETA for reinforcements if the military zone is attacked due to its remote location. This, in theory, shall place more importance on controlling villages and crippling infrastructure when attacking enemy commanders as opposed to just wiping out their city.  Wishful thinking.

TL:DR

Military Zones should be allowed to operate independently, with reduced powers, to allow commanders the ability to penetrate deep into enemy territory and maintain a presence throughout the duration of their offensive.

Hey Oracle, thanks a lot for taking your time to give us great ideas. I will definitely forward them to our developers as reference of future adjustments. Really nice to have you here. :)
