Uncle Luke-Veterans Day Event

My uncle was deployed in Germany, he was then sent to Iraq on Operation Iraqi Freedom. On the way to Baghdad, his vehicle was struck by an IED, he was killed from the explosion's impact. It was surprising to find out in 2014 from the Pentagon that his death was Iranian, not Iraqi. There is still more information being gathered. One event in the aftermath was his buddies that he worked with took the captured terrorists into custody, however, there was not enough room in prisons such as Guantanamo Bay for the POW's, so later my uncle's comrades decided to execute the terrorists, but later got in trouble with court martial. My uncle served as an E-4 Specialist in the Army, he started from scratch because he didn't do JROTC, so he was "authentic" compared to cadets in JROTC. He is still a great hero today, and every Veterans Day there is, I always think of him. He always wanted to join the army, his grandfather (my great grandfather) was a World War II, and Vietnam war veteran, who also happened to have survived the Pearl Harbor attacks on December 7th, 1941. So yeah, that's all I have to say. #VeteransDay #VeteransDayEvent
