Commanders!

We are pleased to bring you intel on Class Tech, set to arrive with our next update!

At the start of a Battlefield you will select from one of three Classes: Airman, Tanker or Cannoneer. Once you select a Class, you will receive bonuses based on research you have completed for that Class. Researching Class Tech offers you various benefits:

  • Strengthen units and buildings
  • Discounts to armament and training costs
  • Boost resource production
  • Bonuses to tactics
  • Increase maximum leadership points, tactic points and troop cap
  • Unlock Ally skills, powerful co-operative skills that benefit allies

Class Tech is designed to give you depth of choice by allowing you to select a Class that fits your play style and to create synergies with your allies and League mates.

As you progress down each Tech tree, you will need to make tough choices on which tech to prioritize. If you should ever find that you want to try different choices, you will be able to re-distribute your tech choices for a cost.

While Class Tech focuses on bonuses for your armies, there are two types of Tech that directly interact with your League or Allies:

Armament Discounts. If you should research Tech that lowers the cost of League City Munitions, all League Mates will benefit from the discount. These discounts do not stack, only the largest discount is applied.

Ally Skills. For the truly ambitious Commander, you and your Allies can challenge your tactical supremacy by researching Ally Skills:

4.thumb.jpg.b1b2ccea4855ecdba5ededbc63efd8df.jpg

  • The Unit provides the bonus to allies in a specific radius around the unit.
  • The bonus only affects allied units and not your own units.
  • Allies of the same class as the buff are not affected. If your unit is providing a Tanker Class bonus, Tanker allies do not get that bonus
  • There are two Ally skills in each Class. Each Unit can only benefit from each Bonus once. For example, an Airman Unit can benefit from each Tanker Ally skill once, and each Cannoneer Ally skill once, for a total of four bonuses max

All bonuses in the game (Unit Tech, Officers, Morale, etc) are based off of your units’ base stats. Ally skills are different in that they multiply your total attack, factoring in all other effects, leading to a much bigger bonus. Those who coordinate effectively shall reap the glory of war!

Sexy! Good work.

I second the naval idea. (Even though i dont know how it works yet)

Id like to also take the time to thank you for disrupting our day. 1/2 of WeFew is having nerdgasims while theory crafting this update. I suspect that Corax and SnakeEater are taking anticipation damage.

Well done!

Wait, so are the upgrades we research for the battlefield only or permanent?

Im guessing that like research, the upgrades are permanent, but the choice of which class to use is per battle field. Looking at the pictures it seems the first class is free and subsequent classes cost diamonds while the actual upgrades costs gold. Like research it looks like they are time released. It also looks like the 46 points in airforce tier I cost a total of 158,300 gold. Its All speculation at this point though.

Very excited and eager to see the new changes! It'll be a whole new level of teamwork

Maybe I missed it, but do you have an approximate time the update will be?

They are permanent, the research will continue even when you are offline, but you can only choose one branch into each battlefield.

I wonder if people are going to prioritize these upgrades more than the individual troops upgrades? It will be interesting to see these make an impact on the battlefield.

Darn it I had troops out attacking rebels and totally forgot about the maintenance

So if you select tanker then you can only have tanks and that is it in the battlefield

No. It means that only the tanks will have a buff to their stats. You will still have all the other troops

For the class tech tree, I do not think it's a good Idea to be able to use it in the main menu. I think you can only access it in the battlefield. It also resets every battlefield you go to, this is just to prevent people who GEM their way to gain an advantage. Lower the amount of time it takes, especially when you are in a 7 day battlefield. This is a great update, but another terrible way people can pay to win.
