On 22 June 1941, Germany launched Operation Barbarossa, an invasion of the Soviet Union. On the same day, Zhukov responded by signing the "Directive of Peoples' Commissariat of Defence No. 3", which ordered an all-out counteroffensive by Red Army forces: he commanded the troops "to encircle and destroy [the] enemy grouping near Suwałki and to seize the Suwałki region by the evening of 24 June" and "to encircle and destroy the enemy grouping invading in [the] Vladimir-Volynia and Brody direction" and even "to seize the Lublin region by the evening of 24 June".[25] Despite numerical superiority, this manoeuvre failed, disorganized Red Army units were destroyed by the Wehrmacht. Zhukov subsequently claimed that he was forced to sign the document by Joseph Stalin, despite the reservations that he raised.[26] This document was supposedly written by Aleksandr Vasilevsky.[27]

On 29 July 1941 Zhukov was removed from his post of Chief of the General Staff. In his memoirs he gives his suggested abandoning of Kiev to avoid an encirclement as a reason for it.[28] On the next day the decision was made official and he was appointed the commander of the Reserve Front.[28] There he oversaw the Yelnya Offensive.

On 10 September 1941 Zhukov was made the commander of the Leningrad Front.[29] There he oversaw the defence of the city.

On 6 October 1941 Zhukov was appointed the representative of Stavka for the Reserve and Western Fronts.[30] On 10 October 1941 those fronts were merged into the Western Front under Zhukov's command.[31] This front then participated in the Battle of Moscow and several Battles of Rzhev.

In January 1943 he (together with Kliment Voroshilov), coordinated the actions of the Leningrad and Volkhov Fronts and the Baltic Fleet in Operation Iskra.[34]In late August 1942 Zhukov was made Deputy Commander-in-Chief and sent to the southwestern front to take charge of the defence of Stalingrad.[32] He and Vasilevsky later planned the Stalingrad counteroffensive.[33] In November Zhukov was sent to coordinate the Western Front and the Kalinin Front during Operation Mars.

Zhukov was a Stavka coordinator at the Battle of Kursk in July 1943. According to his memoirs, he played a central role in the planning of the battle and the hugely successful offensive that followed. Commander of the Central Front Konstantin Rokossovsky, said, however, that the planning and decisions for the Battle of Kursk were made without Zhukov, that he only arrived just before the battle, made no decisions and left soon afterwards, and that Zhukov exaggerated his role.[35]

From 12 February 1944 Zhukov coordinated the actions of the 1st Ukrainian and 2nd Ukrainian Fronts.[36] On 1 March 1944 Zhukov was appointed the commander of the 1st Ukrainian Front[37] until early May.[38] During the Soviet offensive Operation Bagration, Zhukov coordinated the 1st Belorussian and 2nd Belorussian Fronts, later the 1st Ukrainian Front as well.[39] On 23 August Zhukov was sent to the 3rd Ukrainian Front to prepare for the advance into Bulgaria.[40]

On 16 November he became commander of the 1st Belorussian Front[41] which took part in the Vistula–Oder Offensive and the battle for Berlin. He called on his troops to "remember our brothers and sisters, our mothers and fathers, our wives and children tortured to death by [the] Germans...We shall exact a brutal revenge for everything." In a reprise of similar atrocities committed by German soldiers against Russian civilians in the eastward advance into Soviet territory during Operation Barbarossa, the westward march by Soviet forces was marked by brutality towards German civilians, which included looting, burning and rape.[42]

Zhukov was present when German officials signed the Instrument of Surrender in Berlin.[43]

Desmond doss. He is a medic in world war 2 who faught in ww2 Okinawa. He was very religious and he never held a gun! Which is very awesome! There is a movie that came our recently about him and it's a good movie you should go see it. But doss should have an effect on a troops health maybe troops should be able to heal a lot faster in the army base and troop moral  should always be high and/or able to increase faster. And yes I watched the movie but I decided to do some research on him and he's pretty awesome. Glad that movie brought attention to him.

Of the current Generals in the game I have 3 favorite. The following order does not constitute preference, I like them all equally.

George C. Marshal

Hermann B. Ramcke

Theodor Scherer

The following Generals and one Minister are who I would like to see added to the game.

IMG_0597.JPG

Major General James Maurice "Jumpin' Jim" Gavin (Infantry)

James Maurice "Jumpin' Jim" Gavin was the third Commanding General (CG) of the 82nd Airborne Division during World War II. During the war, he was often referred to as "The Jumping General" because of his practice of taking part in combat jumps with the paratroopers under his command; he was the only American General to make four combat jumps in the war. General James Gavin was the the only American Officer to engage enemy forces in direct combat and have confirmed enemy kills as a General. He is also the youngest Major General to command an American division in World War II, being only 37 upon promotion. He was awarded two Distinguished Service Crosses (Second highest award given for Valor) and several other decorations for his service in the war. During combat, he was known for his habit of carrying an M1 Garand Rifle typically carried by enlisted U.S. infantry soldiers; as opposed to the M1 Carbine rifle carried by officers, along with his Colt Model M1911 .45 caliber pistol.
Gavin also fought against segregation in the U.S. Army and was assigned the only all African American Airborne Infantry Battalion (3rd Battalion 505th PIR formerly the 555th Parachute Infantry Regiment) under his command when he was the Regimental Commander of the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment early in the war.

General James"Jimmy" Doolittle (B-25 Medium Bombers)

James "Jimmy" Doolittle was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel on January 2, 1942, and assigned to Army Air Forces Headquarters to plan the first retaliatory air raid on the Japanese homeland. He volunteered for and received General H.H. Arnold's approval to lead the top secret attack of 16 B-25 medium bombers from the aircraft carrier USS Hornet. Doolittle received the Medal of Honor from President Franklin D. Roosevelt for planning and leading this raid on Japan. Japanese commanders considered the raid deeply embarrassing, and their attempt to close the perceived gap in their Pacific defense perimeter was instrumental to the decisive American victory at the Battle of Midway in June 1942. The Battle of Midway is widely considered the turning point which led to Allied victory in the Pacific.

Major General Robert Tryon Frederick (Scouts and Recon Vehicles)

Colonel Frederick commanded the 1st Special Service Force (also called The Devil's Brigade, The Black Devils, The Black Devils' Brigade, and Freddie's Freighters), which was an elite American-Canadian commando unit in World War II. The unit was organized in 1942 and the modern American and Canadian special forces trace their heritage to this unit.

Albert Speer (Production)

In February 1942, Hitler appointed Speer Minister of Armaments and War Production. He was hailed at the time, and long afterwards, for performing an "armaments miracle" in which German war production dramatically increased. Under the guidance of Minister Albert Speer the armaments produced by Germany more than tripled between early 1942 and July 1944. It Is not surprising that this growth, in a period of increasing Allied air-raids on German Industries and transportation networks, led many to call what Speer accomplished a miracle.

I  want to suggest Mr.  Stauffenberg,

who was able to get out of the blindness that the German people were in. He found the way to resistance and paid with his life. There were others, but I cannot recall the names. This officer could add some more sight to the scouts.....

greetings from brucewillis

Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower
In December 1943 Eisenhower was officially designated as the Supreme Allied Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force (SHAEF), serving until the end of hostilities in Europe in May 1945. He was with planning and carrying out the Allied assault on the coast of Normandy in June 1944 under the code name Operation Overlord, the liberation of Western Europe and the invasion of Germany.

In recognition of his senior position in the Allied command, on December 20, 1944, he was promoted to General of the Army, equivalent to the rank of Field Marshal in most European armies. In this and the previous high commands he held, Eisenhower showed his great talents for leadership and diplomacy. Although he had never seen action himself, he won the respect of front-line commanders. He interacted adeptly with allies such as Winston Churchill, Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery and General Charles de Gaulle. He had serious disagreements with Churchill and Montgomery over questions of strategy, but these rarely upset his relationships with them. He dealt with Soviet Marshal Zhukov, his Russian counterpart, and they became good friends

I believe that Eisenhower is a perfect candidate as a League Ofiicer. It fits as his role was commanding troops of many different countries (players).

League Officer Benefit:
Allows league members to refill troops from other league members in their bases using that bases resources and population. We can already supply them using our supplies.

Some leveling effects could be:
Slows morale loss

Increases morale gain

Lengthens duration of morale buff.

This is an absolutely great idea. My question becomes who pays for him? Well you know me I have an idea for that. Have it to where you can buy League City tokens in the premium shop and then his and future League City Generals' cost can be spread throughout the league.

The Officer that I think you should add to the game is Carl Andrew Spaatz.

As commander of Strategic Air Forces, Spaatz directed the United States portion of the strategic bombing campaign against Germany, directing the Eighth Air Force, which was then commanded by Lieutenant General Jimmy Doolittle, based in England, and the Fifteenth Air Force, which was now commanded by Lieutenant General Nathan Twining, based in Italy. In March 1944, Spaatz proposed the Oil Plan for bombing, and in June 1944 during the Operation Crossbow priority bombing of V-1 sites aimed at the UK, Spaatz advocated, and received authorization from Eisenhower for, bombing of those targets at a lower priority.Spaatz's Oil Plan became the highest bombing priority in September 1944. After the war, Eisenhower said that Spaatz, along with General Omar Bradley, was one of the two American general officers who had contributed the most to the victory in Europe.

And the possible special abilities for Carl Andrew Spaatz could be:

Friendly bombers deal more damage

Bombers have more HP

Bombers move faster.

Of course my favorite officer is leonid govorov, hero of the Soviet Union and general Patton as well. I would like to see Zhukov added, as he is a notable WWII commander in soviet front. Commanded the troops that seized Berlin. Another would be fedor Von bock, leader of many blitzkreig engagements in WWII. His mastery would be in speed and in offensive tactics. Next would be guderaon and Rommel, both outstanding German armored blitzkreig warriors. They would add health and other capabilities to tanks. Lastly I would recommend Ivan konev and vastly chuikov for a officer position as artillery generals. Plus something to artillery.

Suggest wild bill Donovan

A decorated veteran of World War I, General Donovan is the only person to have received all four of the United States' highest awards: The Medal of Honor, the Distinguished Service Cross, the Distinguished Service Medal, and the National Security Medal.[3] He is a recipient of the Silver Star and Purple Heart, as well as decorations from a number of other nations for his service during both World Wars

On July 11, 1941, Donovan was named Coordinator of Information (COI). America's foreign intelligence organizations at the time were fragmented and isolated from each other. The Army, Navy, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), United States Department of State, and other interests each ran its own intelligence operations, the results of which they were reluctant to share with the other departments. Donovan was the nominal director of this unwieldy system, but was plagued over the course of the next year with jurisdictional battles. Few of the leaders in the intelligence community were willing to part with any of the power that the current ad hoc system granted them. The FBI, for example, under the control of Donovan's rival J. Edgar Hoover, insisted on retaining its autonomy in South America.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_J._Donovan

he could give you views of enemy troops or see what is in army base or airbase. Also provide a bonus for sieges to represent sabotage.
