  1. By the end of 1943, in Lesquin, France, the Germans were meticulously constructing an airfield where everything was made of wood. The hangars, runaways, antiair guns, and even the towering radar station were wooden, and looked completely like an airfield from the air. The Germans tried to deceive Allied bombers, wasting their ammo carried from the other side of the channel. To make this even more deceptive, the Germans placed camouflage net on facilities and positioned wooden tanks on nearby fields and roads. Wooden plane Wooden tank Wooden AA gun, wtf Allied photo experts had more than enough time to observe and report it. The intelligence sent out spies to investigate the airfield. Soon, the Allied knew it inside out. Don’t even think about lie to me... In late May 1944,the day finally came when the airfield was finished. The Germans launched unprecedented publicity to spread the word. Our airfield is completed! The day after finishing, instead of massive Allied bombers that the Germans were expecting, a lone RAF bomber crossed the channel, circled around the airfield a few times, and dropped a big lone wooden bomb.
